• Local IDEA groups select the TOP 6 in each category AND theme - At the end of the first phase - there will be 3X3X6 = 54 Essays - that go to the Certified Reviewers
• Certified Reviewer (each reads 6 ESSAYS) ranks them PER EACH CATEGORY PER THEME - and presents the top 2 to the Advisory Board - TOTAL remaining = 18 Essays (6 per category)
• The Advisory Board then decides its TOP 2 PER CATEGORY out of the top 6 total in each category - ranking them based on the overall theme of the Essay Competition

After filtering out the Essays that violate rules of the Competition...assuming we have around 500 essays - the stages are as follows: 

- Local IDEA groups read and review the essays - and select the top 6 in each category and theme - and present it to the certified reviewers.

- Each certified reviewer (an expert in his/her field) will read and review the top 6 essays PER CATEGORY PER THEME - and rank their Top 2 choices.  So, at the end of the second phase - there will be TOP 2 Essays  per category per theme - a total of 6 essays per category

- The advisory board gets 6 essays per category - at this stage - it's all about the overall theme of the essay competition.  All 6 essays will be judged equally in each category (their ranking doesn't matter). The board then selects its TOP 2 from EACH CATEGORY - the final winners of the competition (3 first prizes and 3 second prizes - based on categories).

NOTE: THIS IS THE PROFESSIONAL REVIEW PROCESS - WE HAVE A PARALLEL POPULAR REVIEW PROCESS. The Popular review is distinct from the professional review. We will post all of the remaining essays on the website.  The essays will be judged by a popular review using common criteria.      

Essays that violate rules of the Competition will not be posted on the website.
